We shall be staying outside Rome at the Villa Palazzola, a much-loved retreat house up in the Alban Hills, with a majestic view of Lake Albano. The Villa has 16 acres of grounds, varying from a terrace and neat lawns to natural woodland, caves and a nature trail. Excursions will include Rome, some of the Castelli Romani, the San Callisto catacombs and the wonderful water gardens at Tivoli.
