Personal Retreats - If you need a quiet place, somewhere to gather your strength and thoughts, then come along and enjoy the serenity of the centre. Individuals/small groups are housed in the Tudor wing of the Priory (the proprietors' house). This wing consists of one twin (bunks) and one double room, its own staircase from the kitchen and shower room. Ideal for one to four persons. For your relaxation, the library room and the wood panelled Tudor room are available, each with its own log-burner.

Venue Hire - Run your own workshop or event at the centre or host a family party with accommodation conveniently to hand.

Sleeps up to 18 persons. Mainly twin bedrooms with one or two double rooms and two single rooms available. One room is en-suite and there are two upstairs shared bath/shower rooms and one shower room downstairs near the sauna, (two additional W.C.s).

Revitalising Retreats - Several times per year, we run an organised week-end retreat featuring two complementary therapies of your choice, Yoga and meditation and full board accommodation for two nights for an all inclusive price. Check the calendar for dates this year.

At other times, complementary therapies are available by prior arrangement. They include reflexology, Reiki, hypnotherapy, therapeutic massage, hot stone massage, aromatherapy, Indian head massage. Guided meditation and yoga are also on offer.

The Acorn Studio is the main workshop space featuring a wooden floor and measuring 5m by 9.5m. Large, yet intimate it offers a beautiful but neutral backdrop for many activities - dance and movement, Yoga, lectures. Adjoining this is a small sauna.

Outside the Retreat House is the Sanctuary. Purpose built for tranquil meditation. Enjoy a guided meditation or give and receive healing in sublime surroundings.

Dining room featuring three large refectory tables. Fully equipped kitchen. Organic vegetable garden. Spring water from our grounds.

We are proud of our vegetarian cuisine, although meat and fish are offered, locally sourced where possible.

Situated within the peaceful, unrestricted, rural environment of The Priory Retreat Centre dwells Acorn Recording Studios. Top class equipment and experienced staff professionally records and produces all genres of music, consistently achieving outstanding results at realistic affordable costs.
Our spacious control room offers plenty of space to listen relax and feel comfortable during the recording process. Our experience, technical expertise and musicianship helps you make the best recordings possible. From albums to demos, we will work with you to achieve the professional sound you are looking for.
Located on the borders of Devon and Cornwall brings inspiration and creativity to those with the time to take in its natural tranquillity. Wander our spacious seventeen acre grounds amidst the visiting wildlife, take time out to visit the coast less than twenty minutes drive away, returning restored in preparation for new beginnings.
Full board or half board is available at realistic prices and all food is home cooked, a host of soft drinks, teas and coffees is always available, just help yourself.
So whether you are a band, solo artist, with or without experience, we are here to help and can provide all that is required to make that essential quality production.

Travel
Nearest train station and airport is Exeter.
By Bus: From EXETER take the X9 service to HOLSWORTHY, then by taxi or a prearranged pickup.
By Car: Approximately one hour NW of EXETER.
From Junction 31 of the M5, take the A30 to OKEHAMPTON. Pass through Okehampton, then take first right (about one mile after leaving town)
to HOLSWORTHY via A3079. After 16 miles, at the T-junction take the left turn signposted Holsworthy. Turn RIGHT at Anvil Corner.
At the first crossroads turn RIGHT and proceed through Woodacott towards Thornbury. Look for the entrance on the left 500 yards after the white railings, just before the Thornbury village hall. Check our website for further details.
