The Lighthouse, Old Country Farm
The Lighthouse is a newly-built secluded green-oak ‘eco’-house sleeping 6-12 people, with large room for group work, and separate studio, sleeping 2-4.
The Lighthouse stands in a wonderful position amid orchards, overlooking the Malvern Hills, and all the facilities of Old Country Farm are open to our guests. The Farm and Bed and Breakfast with its large garden are all run on green and ethical principles, using organic and local food and fairtrade goods. There is abundant wildlife and beautiful landscape to enjoy all around, with woodland walks and traditional pasture and orchard to explore. Guests often remark on the night sky! And of course, the peace and quiet. The house itself has photovoltaic panels providing electricity, efficient underfloor heating, plus a woodstove, with low energy lighting, and is mainly constructed in oak. It is a unique, welcoming space full of light.

AccommodationThree double-bedded rooms ( two downstairs) all with private facilities, a dressing-room with washbasin and two single beds, and four comfortable ‘Zed' beds and movable screens for use on the large landing or library areas. The Studio, attatched to the garage, has loft double bed and double sofa bed downstairs, with shower room. The large kitchen/diner in the Lighthouse caters for 12 people comfortably and the lofty Music room and adjoining library are both inspirational and practical for group work. There is a washing machine and extra sink in the garage and all heating,bedding and towels are included in the price. Further rooms may be available in the B&B (Old Country House). Down at the farm we even have the 'Gallery in the Granary' to hang your work and to host a final party.
Food
Primarily self-catering - welcome food boxes (local and organic) will be provided and meals or snacks may be available by arrangement. Please discuss your requirements with us.
LocationThe Lighthouse stands in a large garden next to a small country road, surrounded by orchards. There are glorious Herefordshire views on all sides, including the Malvern Hills nearby to the East. The Hills footpath adjoins the next field. The 200-acre farm, with woods, orchards and grassland) is open to guests to enjoy, and Old Country House and garden is nearby. The Lighthouse is approx 5 miles from Ledbury and Malvern, 11 miles from Worcester and 20 miles from Hereford. It is easily reached by M5 and M50.
Type of Retreat
Suitable for self-contained groups of 6-16 (extra rooms may be available in the B&B), for retreats, short courses and group work, special interest holidays (walking, nature, art, music). The Studio is a useful space for a facilitator or course leader.
