Eight cottages within Grade II listed farmstead on sixteen acres by Glastonbury Tor, Somerset. Function room, indoor pool, steam room & treatment room.

Glastonbury is a magical location, and MapleLeaf Middlewick, situated close to the Tor (just a walk away, in a quiet and tranquil setting is the perfect place to unwind).

The Cottages within this early seventeenth century Grade II listed farmstead have been restored and enhanced to provide a range of comfortable well equipped accommodation, and in recent years, the addition of the function room, steam room and treatment room, and the total refurbishment of the indoor heated pool result in a wonderful place to relax and recharge.

MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages & B&B Accommodation
The accommodation has been created out of the original 16th Century farmhouse and outbuildings, and is a comfortable mix of old charm and modern conveniences set amidst gardens, orchards and paddocks. Spectacular views stretch across the levels taking in Wells with its famous Cathedral, to the Mendip hills beyond, where Cheddar Gorge is to be found.

There are seven self catering cottages, sleeping between two and six, plus B&B in Appletree Cottage and Meadow Barn, giving a total capacity of 33. B&B includes scrumptious full Canadian/English breakfasts or menu of your choice.

MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages & B&B Facilities
MapleLeaf Middlewick is a very special cottage complex which is heightened by its facilities. The indoor heated swimming pool had a total revamp in 2006. Patio doors now lead on to an area of decking which overlooks the orchard - lovely for a sunny afternoon. New toilet facilities were added as was a large wetroom/ changing room. At the same time the steam room, which is large enough to seat six, was added. Add to this the function room and ‘pamper room' and you have the perfect location for a retreat.
MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages & B&B Function room
Newly built in 2006 as an extension of the swimming pool building, the function room has been a fabulous success. It has large windows with lovely views, wooden floors, tables and seating for over thirty, a wood burning stove to keep it cozy in the colder months and French doors which open onto the deck and orchard beyond for warmer days.

This space is perfect for group activities of all kinds - so far it's been used for yoga and belly dancing workshops, meditation, family get-togethers and parties, etc.

There is also a kitchen and we can recommend local caterers who can create menus to suit.
MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages & B&B Pampering and relaxation
What better way to unwind than to stay in tranquil surroundings and have a few beauty treatments with fully qualified therapists using pure and natural products in the ‘pamper' room. With the addition of heated indoor pool and the steam room MapleLeaf Middlewick could be called a mini spa!

Choose from such delights as a rejuvenating facial, a Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, a raindrop massage or an Indulgence package (including Strawberries and cream body scrub, facial of choice, manicure and pedicure) - please contact MapleLeaf Middlewick for a full list.

To suit individual requirements, yoga, spiritual tours, reiki, and many other therapies can be arranged.

MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages & B&B The local area
MapleLeaf Middlewick is set in the shadow of Glastonbury Tor on the Isle of Avalon, where the Legends of King Arthur mix with the mists of the Somerset levels.

You can walk up to the Tor or take a stroll into town on the lovely, if occasionally muddy, track. Glastonbury is a unique and special place attracting people from all over the world. All things new age, mystical and spiritual sit alongside the traditional. The town itself has a wonderful mix of unusual shops and café's, and surely the highest number of crystal shops in one town! There are also the Abbey ruins, Chalice Well and of course the Tor. Nearby are Wells and Cheddar, with Bath, Avebury and Stonehenge further afield.
MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages & B&B Testimonials
I have long dreamed of a special holiday place..... a sacred place. A place where we would find serenity and inner calm.
A place where my children, deep in their bones, would marvel at the power and beauty of a full moon. A place where their souls would be held in a wondrous trance by the velvety beauty of a butterfly's wings or the transparent filament on which a dragonfly takes flight. A place where they could walk for miles, oblivious of the distance but totally spell-bound by the proximity of nature and wildlife. And magnetised by the pull of the Tor.
A place where I would meet the Divine in her feminine aspect. Where my heart would be captured by this nurturing landscape and its soothing energy. A place which speaks directly to my soul. A place sheltered by one of the most ancient sites of pilgrimage. And a garden in which to lie on the grass and feel the heartbeat of Mother Earth.
A place where my husband could still a busy mind and feel the healing power of his children's joy.
A place of blissful simplicity and sacred energy.
And I discovered MapleLeaf Middlewick Cottages in Glastonbury and it is such a place.
And now I dream of going back...we will dream until we do return.
(The thoughtful words of a guest returning home to Ireland July 17, 2006)

I spent a fabulous 2 weeks at Middlewick last Christmas (2005) and can't wait to go back! Having arrived at midnight the first night, I hadn't a clue what the grounds looked like. When I awoke the next morning and sat up to look out the window, I gasped at the beauty before me. There is the most spectacular, knotty old moss-covered tree right outside my window, with the rolling Mendip Hills in the background. Then I saw the horses! Actually, every window in our cottage offered a view of either horses and paddocks, hills, apple orchards and/or the Tor. Had I actually woken up in Avalon? Judith, Wendy and Mike were wonderful to us, giving us a warm welcome and taking pains to make the holiday season and every other aspect of our stay special. And it was. I fell so in love with the place that I am returning in September to set up an October Integrated Wellness Tour and Workshop. Indeed, I plan on running annual workshops there for healing, energetic balancing and transformation. The Energy of the place reaches out to calm and balance those who walk its grounds. Can't wait to go back!
All the best, Shirley. Received July 22, 2006
