"Excellent retreat I came away feeling refreshed and energised. I would recommend this retreat to everyone who needs time out for themseleves. It was pure pamper and the food was exceptional. I felt very relaxed and was looked after by a professional team."
Samantha Payton, St Albans

"My novel grew faster than I'd hoped it could, while my every need was looked after by Deborah and her family. They made me so welcome and comfortable I couldn’t fail to be inspired to get on with my writing. The house is wonderful - I loved my comfortable room equipped with desk and kettle (what more does a writer need?) and in the evenings the log fire tempted me to scribble in the sitting room in front of the flames. Meals are delicious, there are riverside walks on hand for vital ’fresh air’ breaks, and the family are great company when sitting at the PC screen felt a bit too isolated. Definitely recommended to any writers who want to invest some time in their writing."
Katharine Robb, Birmingham

"This retreat totally changed my life! Fiona's inspiration, passion and commitment are truly amazing. Her pre and post retreat guidelines are really helpful. The therapies included during the retreat were also of a very high quality. I am already thinking about my next retreat at La Colombe."
Imelda Cox, London, UK

"I experienced a truly magical two day Reiki 1 training with Delphiris in the stunningly beautiful and rugged Cape Cornwall. Delphiris tailored the training to meet my individual requirements and is a warm, responsive and caring Reiki Master. I would certainly recommend this to anyone wishing to undertake Reiki training in a completely get away from it all environment. October 2008"
susie, oxon

"A truly inspiring place to stay. My week's holiday was filled with lots of unforgettable memories. During my visit I felt pampered and looked after and found Deborah and family charming and welcoming. By the end of the week I 'd completed the first 20000 words of my novel which Deborah was happy to comment on and as a result I've got a definite plan to take it further which is all thanks to my time spent there. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs motivation and comfort. I'm hoping to make a return visit in 2009 "
Deborah Best, York

"It was a long way for me to get there but absolutely worth it. The quiet of the countryside and the freedom to either socialize, eat with the family or simply stay in my room - or anywhere else - and write, was great. The meals were warm and welcoming and Bob was a good taxi driver. My thanks to all."
Karen Chevasco, Gibraltar

"My stay at Deborah's was absolutely magnificent. Her meals were gorgeous and I loved the home made bread. Sitting in front of the log fire writing or just reading was so pleasant that I managed to complete the task I had set for myself even though at the time I felt I was being too optimistic. I WILL DEFINITELY be returning. Dorothy Jones, Bournemouth"
Dorothy Venus Jones, Bournemouth, Dorset

"From the moment I walked through the door of this charming house I was treated more like a friend of the family than a paying guest. I had come for relaxing peace and to write 12,500 word of my novel; both things were achieved and more. Deb was very helpful with advice and comments which were much appreciated, and I left (reluctantly) pleased to have found a new set of friends. I shall certainly be back."
Ian Gallaher, Bracknell

""Thank you very very much for so lovely, amazing retreat which I spent in Inisrath. It was really nice experience in relaxations and inside harmonization. All were nice and perfect: delicious vegetarian food, wonderful massages, virgin forest, peacocks' family, stately wild deer and everywhere spiritual atmosphere!""

"i found zororo a lot more pleasent than i was expecting,, it has all the cleaniness and furnishings you'd expect from a top hotel with a very pleasent and personal touch of lounges, real log fires and real home cooked food (much of which seems to be grown by the land lady in the vine yards),, and there are fridges consatntly topped up with drinks and beer,,, of ne extra charge. highly recomended if you want peace and freindliness away from your usual tourist places,, Will definately be frequenting again"
Danny, southeast england

"We had a lovely relaxing holiday here in spring 2008. Every meal was superb & I truly miss the wonderful bread with homemade jams for breakfast! The accomodation was immaculate with all the quality of a luxury hotel yet the warmth & personal touch of a home. Kevin & Tanaka are a lovely couple & nothing was too much trouble, so thank you both for a fabulous time in a traditional part of Portugal as yet undiscovered by your average mainstream tourist!"
E. Cockett, London UK

"I was in need of a peaceful, healing and spiritually nourishing break and I found what I was looking for here. The accommodation was everything we needed it to be: comfortable, beautiful, clean. We were warmly welcomed and it was very special to have healing and meditation sessions on site. We had a wonderful holiday: outings to the mountains or to the caves to keep my children happy, and a lovely gite and garden to relax in."
H Somerville, South Devon

"Detox International transformed my life! After being ill with various debilitating illnesses for over 25 years, I spent one week with the detox team and wow! In the words of my husband "they gave me back the fit, healthy and vibrant young woman I married". If you only do one great thing in your life, I recommend that you make it a week with Detox International and you too can change your life for the better."
Janet Davis, West Sussex UK

"I have now been on the Detox International retreat twice and am eagerly booking my third time in January 2009. This is by far the most fulfilling retreat i've been on and the only one i have attended more than once. When you've also got almost half the people on the retreat who have completed more than one detox with Detox International, that alone says it all. What contributes to the success of this detox retreat is the person centred approach, which allows for each persons indivdual needs, both physical and emotional to be met in a sensitive and genuine way, from beginning to end. Its is a very structured organised programme, with great attention to detail in all aspects of the service provided from the point you step off the plane and throughout the week of your stay and the end results are amazing. I have never felt better and cant wait for the next one. "
taiwo emiabata, London

"I have been visiting this retreat for a number of years for holidays so that I can attain some peace and tranquility from my hectic life in Surrey. I not only found that but got some bonuses such as massages, healing, yoga, walks and the most beautiful accommodation. Once greeted by the owners and your questions answered you are allowed to settle in and plan your holiday as you wish. The owners are always at hand to help if needed but other than that they allow you the peace and solitude you have come for. An absolutely beautiful holiday - relaxing and rejuvenating. I would recommend it to anyone - for those looking for a break to view the beautiful site or skiing or those that are spiritual. Many Thanks"
Daphnee Brierley, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey

"I spent a relaxing and rejuvenating week on the stunning Cornish coast and have benefited greatly from my five special and nurturing sessions with Delphiris. She was able to provide me with considerable insight into the causes of my inner tensions and stress. Her treatments, which included breathing exercises, reiki and Indian head massage, have provided me with an effective basis to continue this healing process. "
Chris, London

"Tranquil Abiding is a wonderful Buddhist Retreat and meditation centre. A truly relaxing and peaceful experience where everybody is made to feel at home."
Mr. Gordon, North Wales

"June ‘08 What a truly magical experience. I undertook my first ever fast and detox last year in Phuket, Thailand, from which I really enjoyed the benefits. However, the Sura Detox Retreat I have just completed offered something far and beyond my Thailand experience. The level of care, dedication, expertise, understanding, support and education was way beyond my expectations. Set in wonderful countryside and with all the luxuries of a holiday week away (swimming pool, sauna, walks, big screen movies in the evenings etc) you couldn’t be better placed to undergo what, at times, can be quite a daunting experience for some. But fret not...because the staff are open, honest, friendly and most importantly...really genuine. It makes such a difference. And the detox itself is so worth it, as at the end of the week a refreshing surge of revitalising energy sweeps through your body and leaves you rejuvenated and invigorated - and determined to put into place some nutritional changes that will leave you feeling this good for a lot longer. Oh...and I forgot to mention (whilst we’re on the subject of nutrition)...the most unexpected thrill of the whole week! Dao, a real star, gives a daily talk at 1pm. Don’t miss it! He’s a natural presenter and storyteller and each day has you spellbound as he recounts the ins and outs of all things nutrition. At the end of the week you’ll be so full (of cool facts and stats...sorry not food) that you will be ideally placed to make your own choices and decisions about your future. Well worth it. I had a cracking week and I’ll be back, Nick (...who’s not greeny, earthy, veggie or vegan. He’s just a bloke who likes a little bit of booze and a bit of rugby. He also just wants to stay healthy and wants everyone out there to know that this Retreat caters for all types and all ages. It’s simple really...if you want to feel better, give it a go...)"
Nick H, Bath

"From the moment I arrived at the Centre I felt very loved and cared for, the family were very welcoming, and my needs were very much catered for. The setting is lovely with beautiful gardens to sit and relax in and let go of the hurly burly that everyday life seems to contain. I felt like a new person when it was time to leave, ready to face anything life brought me. I will definitely be going again and highly recommend this Centre to anyone. "
Rose Sweetland, Devon

"Casa La Celeda is a VERY well presented B&B, the decor and furnishings are of a high standard. The breakfast was very nice with most options available. Amanda is a trained cook and will host dinner parties for groups of 4 or more. There is a wonderful roof terrace with a hot tub, the views are stunning. Value for money , well you wont get better , and Amanda and her son are spendid host's. It is in a very good position as it is an equal 1 hour drive from Granada, Malaga and Cordoba. You wont be dissapointed."
STEPHEN HEASMAN, London

"Synchronicity is a wonderful thing! One day I am home tapping on my computer looking for new friends in Spain – the next I am transported into the most lavish scenery… Amanda is one of those people who has the effect of making you feel as if you have known her for years in an instant. She is a social chameleon who could make a King or pauper feel at ease. It does help we have a few things in common too, something I was very excited about, such as a fascination in all things spiritual & a love of all things natural & authentic - as opposed to today’s shallow God’s of commerciality and opportunism. (We have both had a taste of a different lifestyle and realised it was hollow & there had to be another way). She was living the dream. It had not come easy either, (and nor should it!) lots of hard work, much networking (isn’t the internet a wonderful thing for that) and little by little the winning over of the naturally suspicious locals - who in the end, of course were also succumbed by her sheer enthusiasm and charm. Me, I am a coward! I since moved to Spain to a part that resembles Blackpool and gradually try to learn the Spanish ways (mostly from the English which is a ridiculous plan as I am now finding out); which is why I have even more admiration for a woman who as a hard-working single mom, finds the most tranquil of havens in a place far from the bustle of noisy cities, throws herself at the areas mercy and gets back to a gentle, authentic life that most of us Brit’s can only read about. The drive up to the village was breathtaking. Rolling hills, lakes and countryside that present the sort of stunning imagery you would expect to find in National Geographica Magazine. Such beauty hardly seems real. As you pass the various traditional villages and their Spanish inhabitants, you can sense the calm or “tranquilla” as they call it. It is in the groups of old men, sat with their flat caps on benches discussing nothing more harrowing than local politics or the price of a donkey, in tones that at first, to the untrained ear seem exciteable. It is with the youngsters who have no need of reality TV, binge drinking and violence who hang around in small clusters and naively plot their escape to the larger cities. It is with the cows in the fields, much larger than our own, who can hardly be bothered to chew or walk. And at night, when the skies are much darker, without the manmade light pollution, it is in the rhythmic sound of the Cigarra’s and other insects that shrill out the percussion of the land. Amanda’s home / guest house is a special blend of homely yet stylish. This historical building has been given an interior that blends rustic charm, with a touch of luxury. It gives the impression of being regal but at the same time inviting. I stayed in a room that had a four poster bed and felt very much at home. The locals who have overcome their natural suspicion of foreigners (mostly I am certain due to Amanda’s own natural approach) are welcoming and quickly show a smile if even a few Spanish words are attempted, for remember this is not Brit ex-pat land – Benidorm or some other colonised location, this is deep, true authentic rural Spain. There are many things locally to be admired; views of old buildings & ruins, quaint unspoilt villages, restaurants with true Spanish dishes, bursting with locally grown and naturally organic vegetables (and not a Tescos for miles!). I enjoyed a local market which presented an opportunity to mix with many different characters selling homemade jams & jewellery. Their was a perceptible yet gentle excitement & energy around the stalls that made the experience refreshing & uplifting - unlike UK shopping, there was no need to shop till you drop or flex your plastic like a lunatic to enjoy such a simple, colourful, stimulating pleasure. I was in heaven the whole holiday. Two words for my stay: OTHER WORLDLY… "

""I recently had a lovely, relaxing stay at the lakeisle retreat on inisrath and have returned to work rejuvinated and glowing with a new sense of purpose. The food was fantastic and the people were friendly, accomodating and interesting. I hope to take some vegetarian cooking courses in the future. A 'rest like no other' it has to be said.""
kelly anne roche, Dublin

"Great place to stay, the hot tub with the best view ever. village life on the doorstep, olive trees and rolling hills.A great base for the Alhambra, Seville and Cordoba."

"What a fabulous time our family had when we visited Casa La Celada in October last year. The weather was fantastic, and we sunbathed on the roof terrace on Nov 1st! The views are amazing. It is wonderful to get away to somewhere so utterly unspoilt, yet be pampered by great surroundings and a lovely home..... This, it has to be said, is a very special place to stay. And our host's knowledge of places to visit near and far was so helpful. We had an excellent time in Cordoba which was just over an hour's drive away. Try it, you'll like it!"
nicola, london, england

"Wow! We've just arrived back home from the Ultimate Escape at retreat au chateau... happier, healthier and totally pampered, it really was pure heaven. Thankyou Danya and the team for making our stay the best holiday we have ever had!"
susan, london

"I have spent too many nights, in too many hotels over too many years to "look forward" to another week away from home. That said, I had heard a lot about the beutiful town of Iznájar and this part of the Province of Córdoba in Andalucia so I thought 3/4 days there would be at least a break on a long journey. How wrong I was! From the warm welcome when I arrived late at night after a long trek across country to the final farewell, this was a holiday in paradise. I needed to chill after 5/6 months of 15/16 hour days 7 days per week, Oh boy, did I chill out! Everything is immaculate, everything is spotless and nothing is too much trouble to the owner. On the roof there is a magical hot-tub and from the roof there is view to die for. To be honest I did little exploring, I was happy to relax and was delighted to find that I got hi-speed wireless internet, free telephone calls within Europe (!) and regular conversations with the best-behaved, funniest 8 year-old I have ever met. He made my stay! If the master suite is available, take it. The few extra euros are well worth it and don't forget to drop into the bar next door - it's out of the 1970s - and a million miles away from the KissMeKwik hats on the coast just over an hour away. You will need a car and this is not the place if you want binge-drinking, bingo or karaoke. However, if you want time to yourself or with your partner I would rate this as my FAVOURITE in Spain. That says a lot from somebody who recently spent 265 nights in one year in hotels. Enjoy! Steve "
Steve Hall, Torrevieja. Alicante, Spain

"Deborah is a more than generous hostess and her home is immaculate. My stay was filled with tranquillity and warmth - throughout, I was given choice as to whether I wanted to socialise or be solitary and was included within the household effortlessly. Deb has a fund of knowledge and ideas to draw on how to get work published and I found her wisdom invaluable."
Sarah McCloughry, Oxford

"We visited Casa-la-celada in May 2008, and found this an ideal setting to rewind. A relaxed enviroment, similar to 'home to home' with the owner welcoming us at breakfast time. A great base to visit the surrounding towns or cities, or drive though the olive groves, or relax in the hot tub and sunbath. The owner was able to advise or adapt our stay to suit us. A great retreat!"
Susan, girona, spain

"I arrived stressed and anxious and left relaxed and ready to meet the challenges of life again. Really relaxing, friendly, in a beautiful setting where I gained a friend for life in Danya. This will be a place i always come back to. My 17yr old stopped being a typical teenager and we were two relaxed adults, with time to talk and friends became soul mates, who could ask for more."
Joanne, Durham

"A truly fantastic reaxing experience. This was my first retreat holiday but I will now be a regular visitor to Retreat au Chateau."
Prof. Bill Cole, Cornwall, UK

"I went on a weekend retreat here with the Trinity College Yoga Society in 2008. The hospitality was overwhelming and every effort was made to accommodate us. We brought our own teacher and had our own schedule which were allowed follow undisturbed. The food was delicious and the setting so beautiful and still. It was removed from all distractions allowing the guests to take time for themselves. I would definitely reccomend it :)"
Joanne Crean, Dublin

"My experience at Inish Rath was invaluable, not only did I enjoy the atmosphere and relaxing ambience of the Island but I also made some kind and wonderful friends. I will definitely be going back and would recommend this truly unique place to anyone"
Catherine Grant, Waterford, Ireland

"A warm place in my heart is reserved for Inis Rath Island such was my visit there, the gentle community make a person feel right at home with comfortable accomodation and the food is really good. I still cook one of the recipes that we were shown during the vegetarian cookery lesson to this day! Our group on the yoga retreat learned some fascinating yoga (postures, breathing, relaxation and even tried sound mediation), we heard some Vedic knowledge (the oldest philosophy in the world) and even a little bit about ourselves...I think it really helped that the place is so peaceful. We also had some company in the form of peacocks, rabbits and the occasional deer could also be seen, all adding to the magical charm of Inis Rath I would love to treat myself and return to the Island its a rare and beautiful place everyone should experience. "
Adam, Northern Ireland

"A very special place that has a magic of its own. If you want a unique experience, than Inisrath is definitely the retreat to choose. Mary Perry"

"I spent a weekend in Inisrath in August 2007, participating in yoga, chanting and meditation. I came away restored in mind, body and spirit. A perfect place to escape from the busy and stressful lives we lead these days. Tim is the perfect host and I was very impressed with the kindness and hospitality shown to me by everyone there. The food is delicious and I hope to go back this year to do the vegetarian cooking course."
Angela McLaughlin, Letterkenny, Co Donegal

"It's definitely been my best investment this year! Delphiris has been a great help at a time when I felt lost. The environment is amazing, and the treatments were specific to my needs. I’ve also learnt techniques to carry on my healing journey. I felt Delphiris has been very helpful in directing and accompanying me in an important time in my life, and I am very glad I requested her help. I came back relaxed, focused and very optimistic. I strongly recommend it as i'll go back there as soon as I need it again!"

"When i first stepped into the Wellbeing Boutique the smells from the herbs tingled my senses. I had an Ayahuasca ceremony and was overwhelmed initially by the genuinity of the process. I will definitely go again."
Josie, London

"I had a wonderful relaxing weekend stay at the Wellbeing Sanctuary and would recommend it to everyone who cares about their health and needs to recharge their batteries. It is a very personal retreat and I was deeply surprised by the immediate calming atmosphere - I felt like I was inside a cloud! On the first day as part of the weekend package I had booked, I had a herbal shower followed by a long deep pressure body massage in the private treatment room, with a herbal foot soak and foot massage. This was exactly what I needed as I had had a particulary stressful week at work! I later had a herbal consultation which was deeply intuitive beyond anything I have experienced before and was prescribed a range of herbal remedies from all over the world which were beautifully packaged in hand crafted materials. I was told the unique packaging was to encourage commitment to the herbal remedy and promote recycling - the explanation was fascinating to hear. I was also advised to undergo a specific liver detox later in September and was able to purchase a unique herbal detox kit which I took home and can't wait to start. The inside of the wellbeing sanctuary was so peaceful that I was able to fully relax on the first day, meditating, deep breathing and stretching and watching spiritual DVDs. Also the design of the accommodation is such that I could just sit and every now and again notice another lovely calming detail within the decor. I must also mention the beautiful display of herbal teas and the store of wholefoods which came in handy on my first night. The next day I went on an ancient woodland and wildflower meadow trail. The whole experience really was a 'sanctuary' from the hustle and bustle of my every day life. Will I go back for more? Definitely! and next time I plan to take a couple of friends for one of their shamanic cleansing and healing retreats which I am told will be a life changing experience - can't wait."
Joanne Taylor, London

"I had the most wonderful, relaxing holiday recently and enjoyed a very peaceful break, sharing the animals, and views. The cookery course was sublime, and I have already tried one of the recipes at home. I met some interesting people, and hope to return for another holiday in the near future."
Barbara Hall, Guildford, Surrey

"Rio Torto retreat is the perfect place to unwind and appreciate natural surroundings. the sunsets pink in the evenings over the lake, and the countryside is bursting with wild flowers and interesting bird song. Rio Torto retreat is perfect , Either as a weeks holiday or a weekend away.. there are walks to explore, water sports to conquer, sun to be bathed in and food to be eaten. the owner, lesley stephens was very flexible and friendly and was able to answer all our questions well before we arrived. we took a wedding party of 20 friends to enjoy the retreat for 2 weeks before and after the wedding which was at another location. Lesley also runs special themed childrens camps, holistic workshops and tai chi retreats. "
Sarah Harman, london

"This is an excellent space to slow life down for a while and explore and create my journey. Delphiris is a special woman and her nurturing and warmth made my stay even more amazing. I did the two day break away which included two amazing therapies!Thank You:)"

"Hillcrest looks Amazing on the internet but nothing can prepare you for how Spectacular it is in real life; the Spa Suite is just pure luxury and I've never been so well looked after before. It's all the little extras you don't expect that make a stay at Hillcrest extra special"
Cynthia & Russell, GoldCoast Australia

"My husband and I decided to try this retreat after a stressful and somewhat emotionally draining 3 years. Both of us were 'running on empty' and were in great need of some time out. Neither of us having attended a retreat before we were a little nervous about what to expect but we need not have worried. Delphiris met us on our first night and immediately put our minds at rest. She discussed with us what we hoped to get out of our time on the retreat and then set about designing a programme for us, working with us both together and and as individuals. We were introduced a variety of therapies and meditations which were truely healing and we have now returned home feeling refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated. Our first taste of a retreat was only made better by Delphiris herself who is quiet and unassuming and is a great person to get to know. "
Sue and Phil, Surrey

"Myself and a group of fellow stressed teachers have been to the Orange Tree every year since it opened. We love the atmosphere, good food, relaxing environment and beautiful surroundings. You can truly get away from it all there. The addition of the hot tub was inspired! The view from there is to die for!!"
Thea Watkins, Washington, Tyne & Wear

"Very nice en peacefull place! I work here as a volunteer and I am writing my final paper for my study psychology! The people here are very nice and relaxed. The nature is superb. In short the best spot to be for relaxation and contemplation!"

"To date I have visited Ashwhin twice and on each occasion it more than lived up to its aims. I found a gentle safe place within which I was encouraged and facilitated through a period of intense personal discovery and healing. Like the ubiquitous can of wood preserver, if you're willing to engage with what it has to offer, Ashwhin does just what it says in the advert! "
Carol, London

"I am so grateful for the time which I spent with Derby this year. She gave me a big gift: With her love and her competence in working with reiki I was able to do my reikiteacher and -master. The atmosphere and the energies at Dunstaffnage Mains Farm are so wonderful and helpful for me. Thank you very much, Derby! I hope we will see us together! Many greetings from Germany, Koblenz "

Kate McEwen, Argyll

"It was a perfect place for me to reflect and think about the terrible suffering my partner and husband of 20 years had gone through for 7 months before his death in January 2006. I needed the warmth of the welcome the lovely Derby and Peter gave me. I also loved the treatments available and the space to do my own thing. Comfortable, warm and well appointed attractive 'cottage' and healing care. Thank you xxx"
Ali Carmichael, London

"thank-you so much. I am really enjoying the meditation and each one is a different experience. I am definitely seeing the benefits. I have completely changed my diet to complete health foods and have lost weight and many other advantages. It is really very early still for me to see the benefits. But my health has improved. I also have stopped drinking. Possibly most importantly none of these changes have been a struggle. "
Mike, London
