Location

Monte Rosa is located in the unspoilt Algarvian countryside, 2 kilometers from the authentic village of Barão S. João, 9 kilometers from the historical town of Lagos with its beautiful beaches. You can hike along the fascinating cliff heads of the south- and west coast, with its authentic fishermans villages, or go inland to the Monchique hills.

Accommodation
There is a variety of rooms and apartments: you can get a room with twin beds or double bed, with or without kitchenette, or an apartment with one or two sleeping rooms. Every accommodation has a private bathroom and an outdoor sitting area.

The apartments are surrounded by a beautiful garden with various sitting corners.

Camping is also available please contact us for prices.

Prices are from €40 per night for a single room to €125 per night for a 2 bedroom apartment sleeping 7.

 

Meals
The restaurant at Monte Rosa provides home cooked meals and also has a terrace and garden. Monte Rosa can cater for special dietary requirements with prior notice. Packed lunches are available on request.

 

Pool
There is a swimming pool (5 by 10 meter), with relaxing wooden sun beds and a beautiful panoramic view of the natural surroundings.

Travel
The closest airport to Monte Rosa is Faro, which is one hour easy drive away. Monte Rosa can organise car rental for you from Faro or provide transfers. There is a good public transport service (bus or train) between Faro and Lagos. From Lagos to Barão S. João you can catch a bus or a taxi.

It is also possible to fly to Lisbon and get the bus to Lagos or drive to Monte Rosa. Journey time approx 4 hours

Hammocks, Hiking and Health
Monte Rosa also run weeks where they combine outdoor activities, wellbeing treatments, healthy food and the opportunity to rest and recuperate on holiday.

These revitalizing weeks are held regularly throughout the year. Ideal to meet other people, slow down your pace of life or if you just want to healthy break away. There are program lead activities every day, some included in the price, others as optional extras.

Venue Hire
It is possible to hire the whole of Monte Rosa either for workshop, a base for your group while you explore the area or just for a gathering of friends and family.

Monte Rosa can be rented as a total or you can occupy just a few rooms with use of the working area.

There is a beautiful round house, perfect for groups, training, workshops, etc. The outside wall is built in natural stone and the inside has a heated clay wall and heating under its floor tiles. So in winter time there is still a comfortable temperature to work. Double glazed windows prevent noise from outdoors. The 10-angled roof is supported by an impressive wood construction. The building has a floor space of 10 meter diagonal and is suitable for groups up to 30 people (depending on the space needed for each specific group/workshop).

Besides this indoor working space, there is also a beautiful area outside, shaded by a huge eucalyptus tree, (working area is aprox. 140 meter). The centre is an ideal location for programs in the field of personal development, communication, awareness, body work, meditation, dance, yoga, music, creative arts, etc.

Fully catered group arrangements are offered or you can rent Monte Rosa with the option of self catering. If you wish, help can be offered with the setup off a program in which also local activities (dolphin watching, down hill mountain biking, Fado evening) can be added.

Monte Rosa provides an ideal place to rest and relax with no agenda. It is also a convenient base, if you prefer a more active holiday break. Whether in a group, with your family or by yourself.
There is always lots to do and see near by including beautiful beaches just 15 mins drive away and the Algarve boasts of having the best all year round climate in Europe. Trips to visit dolphins, canoeing, horse riding etc can be arranged.
Regular yoga classes and massage are also available
