Accommodation
You can choose from twin, double or larger apartments, which have kitchenettes. There are also single, twin or double rooms all of which are en-suite. These rooms have use of outdoor kitchen facilities. Each room and apartment has its own outdoor area allowing privacy. (Towels are provided)

Monte Rosa's gardens are beautiful, with a colourful display of Mediterranean flowers nearly all year round.

You also have use of the communal patio, lounge and bar.

Meals
Monte Rosa provides wonderful home cooking. Breakfast is continental style (breads/cheese/meat/eggs/fruit/cereal), evening meals and lunches are available most days. Special dietary requirements can be catered for providing adequate notice has been given.
Barbeque facilities are also available either at your accommodation or in the main gardens.
Packed lunches can be arranged if you want to go out for the day. Monte Rosa has its own bar and operates a self service arrangement for both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
If you go into the village of Barão De São João there are a couple of cafe/bars and restaurants.
Of course you can cater for yourself during your stay. There are a couple of small supermarkets in the Barão De São João, larger supermarkets are 15mins drive away in Lagos.

Activities in and around Monte Rosa
Monte Rosa has its own swimming pool with wooden sun loungers, surrounded by panoramic views of the natural surroundings. Hammocks and garden swings are found throughout the gardens for that total tranquillity feel.
Massage treatments are available on request and yoga classes are held regularly. Horse riding, canoeing, surfing, dolphin watching and bicycle hire can be arranged for you. Monte Rosa will also provide local walking routes from a short walk to a days hike.

Location
2KM from the traditional village of Barão De S. João in the heart of the Algarvian countryside.
Just a 10 minute drive will take you to the historical town of Lagos, perfect for shopping and sightseeing.
5 minutes more will take you to the beautiful Mediterranean coastline with quiet fishing villages, stunning beaches and amazing costal walks.
Just 30 minutes away is also the breath taking Atlantic coast or you could travel inland to the Monchique hills.

Travel
The closest airport to Monte Rosa is Faro, which is one hour easy drive away. Monte Rosa can organise car rental for you from Faro or provide transfers. There is a good public transport service (bus or train) between Faro and Lagos. From Lagos to Barão S. João you can catch a bus or a taxi.

It is also possible to fly to Lisbon and get the bus to Lagos or drive to Monte Rosa. Journey time approx 4 hours

Venue Hire
It is possible to hire the whole of Monte Rosa either for workshop, a base for your group while you explore the area or just for a gathering of friends and family.

Monte Rosa can be rented as a total or you can occupy just a few rooms with use of the working area.

There is a beautiful round house, perfect for groups, training, workshops, etc. The outside wall is built in natural stone and the inside has a heated clay wall and heating under its floor tiles. So in winter time there is still a comfortable temperature to work. Double glazed windows prevent noise from outdoors. The 10-angled roof is supported by an impressive wood construction. The building has a floor space of 10 meter diagonal and is suitable for groups up to 30 people (depending on the space needed for each specific group/workshop).

Besides this indoor working space, there is also a beautiful area outside, shaded by a huge eucalyptus tree, (working area is aprox. 140 meter). The centre is an ideal location for programs in the field of personal development, communication, awareness, body work, meditation, dance, yoga, music, creative arts, etc.

Fully catered group arrangements are offered or you can rent Monte Rosa with the option of self catering. If you wish, help can be offered with the setup off a program in which also local activities (dolphin watching, down hill mountain biking, Fado evening) can be added.
