Cortijo Romero is Spain's leading English language centre for holistic personal growth holidays, open nearly all year. Hidden within an ancient olive grove and cradled by magnificent mountains, its a truly peaceful and restorative retreat, with beautiful abundant gardens, a splendid pool, buildings in traditional style and a uniquely supportive atmosphere. The centre is situated in Las Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and national park. Holidays include full board accommodation and an 18-20 hour course, plus optional yoga or tai chi, and a full-day excursion to spectacular mountain villages.

Meet likeminded people

Cortijo Romero is a beautiful centre where you can meet like-minded people, since it tends to appeal to those who want something a little different from a holiday. Many people tell us that it offers a space where you can really be yourself, taking time to stop and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings, being nurtured and replenished, and enjoying conversations away from the 'everyday', outside in the sunshine most of the year round.

The Alpujarras Mountains

Our centre is situated in 'Las Alpujarras' - a stunning region within Andalucia, which is said to have the clearest skies in Europe. The centre itself is nestled in a fertile valley, within an 800-year-old olive grove, and is surrounded by magnificent mountain views.

Enjoying the Gardens

The gardens at Cortijo Romero are full of little hide-aways and shady spots, as well as having more open spaces for those who enjoy sunbathing, or for group activities. There are quiet places where you can sit peacefully under an ancient olive, feeling the calm presence of the surrounding mountains.

Exploring the Area

Excursions into the surrounding mountains - walking and visiting the little unspoilt villages - take place during each course.

We have a choice of single, double or twin rooms. All are single storey, furnished and decorated simply in traditional style.

Large Group Room for Courses and Activities

This is the larger of the two group rooms, where courses and activities take place (although sometimes the gardens or roof terrace are used instead.)

The Roof Terrace

The roof terrace affords opportunities to watch the sunset, to star gaze, or for morning yoga and tai chi. It's also a great spot to sit and chat or just gaze off into the mountains.
