Marari Beach is ideally located in the heart of Kerala with very good transport connections.
Cochin has a Domestic and International Airport with a great variety of flights from Domestic (Mumbai, Delhi) and International airlines (especially via Middle East).
We can arrange a safe and secure taxi pick-up for you by one of our friendly drivers who will meet you with a name board. Please contact us in advance with your flight details. Taxi transfers incur an additional charge and it takes 2 hours from the airport.
We can accommodate up to 14-16 guests in 2 boutique beachfront villas (5 spacious double/twin bedrooms). All Retreat facilities are in the Lotus Villa: Yoga Shala (up to 16 people), swimming pool, Ayurveda facilities and yoga deck for private classes.
Our boutique private villas provide all the ingredients for a great retreat: a stunning setting overlooking the Arabian Sea, fresh local food to nourish the body and soul, caring staff, high quality facilities and foreign managers to ensure all the small details of your retreat are catered for.
Yoga Teachers and Wellness/Health Practitioners are welcome to organise a retreat, workshop or master class in our villas on the beach. We can accommodate up to 16-17 guests at the villas on sharing basis and in the yoga shala overlooking the sea.
June-July: 26-32 C. Dramatic skies, quick rain showers and 5-6 hours average sunshine per day. Sea is not suitable for swimming but you can use pools at Orchid/Hibiscus Cottages. Low season rates August October: 22-30 C. Cool and pleasant with warm nights and occasional showers. North-east monsoon in late October with rains at night. November- February: 20-30 C. Sunny and dry with cool nights and 8-9 hours of sunshine per day. The main tourist season. March May: 28-36 C / 82-97 F. Nicely hot and humid. You will appreciate the sea breeze on the beach.
There will be plenty of time to discover the local area in between classes. We offer cycling, visit local elephant corral, church/temple visit, Alleppey town, Fort Cochin, houseboat cruise or a country boat ride on the famous backwaters. In addition you can have an Ayurvedic massage in our beach villa or arrange a consultation with a local doctor. Use of swimming pools at our Orchid/Hibiscus villas or one of the homestays nearby.
Daily yoga classes will be held in the Yoga Shala at Lotus or in the ‘sea-breeze’ lounge of the Palm Villa. Both spaces can host up to 16 persons for classes, presentations and dining. We provide yoga mats, bolsters and ropes and a CD/MP3/USB player with surround sound for music. A local yoga teacher is available to support the retreat organiser with additional classes.
Marari Villas use traditional and modern practices to reduce energy and water use, CO2 emissions and waste and include:
A biogas plant that provides cooking gas from food waste
Composting provides garden fertiliser
Solar water heating and rainwater harvesting
Food purchased from local fishermen and farmers
No plastic bottle policy
Low energy lighting, AC and appliances
All year around in Orchid/Hibiscus Cottages. June and July beach villas are closed but from August onwards is a good time for a retreat.
