The Centre aims to help each unique individual find peace, joy, strength and fulfilment in their lives. Comfortable accommodation, with plenty of parking, is within four acres of beautiful gardens: it can be B/B, F/B, self/catering, or venue hire. Meals are vegetarian or vegan with special diets catered for. There are two Meditation rooms with Meditation each morning and evening and Courses in Pure Kriya Meditation. The pool and Aqua Yoga can be booked, also Meditation Foundation and Mindfulness, Natural Energy Therapy for people and animals, Progressive Counselling/Coaching, Yoga and Bones for Life. The Training College offers workshops and professional training to Diploma level. Personal Retreats are throughout the year and four Silent Retreats at Easter, Christmas, June and October.

Directions and Travel

Queen Camel is just a mile from the Sparkford roundabout on the A303 and 6 miles north of Yeovil. There is plenty of parking within the grounds of the Centre. Sherborne (on the London Waterloo, to Exeter line) and Castle Cary (London Paddington, Bath, Bristol and the north) rail stations are 6 miles away. Please contact us for current taxi numbers.

The Retreat Centre welcomes enquiries from other teachers and practitioners who wish to hold their retreats in this lovely part of Somerset. Either all or part of the Centre can be booked with meals, refreshments and accommodation as required ~ and a lovely large teaching room with doors onto the gardens.
Small groups can hold their event in one of the buildings in the gardens, some of which have their own separate gardens.
As well as the heated indoor swimming pool, yoga and relaxation classes and Meditation & Mindfulness classes can be arranged with the resident teacher. Treatments in Natural Energy Therapy can also be booked for relaxation and letting go.

Venue Hire

For a relaxing break or retreat in picturesque Queen Camel, book a self-catering cottage and enjoy the countryside with footpaths from the door, access to the tranquil gardens of the Retreat Centre, book the swimming pool, join in silent Meditations or book the classes on offer.
Owl Cottage sleeps 4-6, Raven Cottage sleeps 5-7 and Maymorn bungalow sleeps 6-8. Maymorn bookings can sleep an additional two in a chalet in the back garden.
Or book in B/B or F/B in Chalets in the main gardens, the Lodge or the Lavender room (for less-abled guests).
Nearby is a football and cricket green with children’s playground and tennis courts.

Holiday Homes

We welcome people with all kinds of silent Meditation to join us each evening & morning. The Pure Kriya Meditation Course can be taken mid-week or at weekends ~ some dates are on the Course Programme but please enquire for additional dates. This Meditation is in-depth ~ it helps you to master your breath, body and mind so that you can live life to the full and progress spiritually to be who you really are, in every-day life. Access the unconditional love, peace, joy and innate wisdom which we all have within. Take your discernment, focus, empathy, resilience and compassion to a deeper level.
Meditation Foundation & Mindfulness can be booked 1 to 1 or in groups. This helps us to begin stilling the mind and body and is a complete practice or can be a stepping stone to Pure Kriya Meditation.


Yoga Days, Yoga classes during the week and on Saturdays, including Aqua Yoga in our pool, Transformation Yoga and Bones for Life (somatic processes to free up movement and strengthen bones). Beneficial as these are physically, emotionally and mentally, they also endow a great sense of well-being, of freedom and are fun!
Classes for special events can also be arranged as well as 1 to 1’s.
Teacher Training Courses to diploma level are scheduled each year ~ this training can also be taken as 1 to 1 to suit individual needs/dates.
Our Teachers have trained with specialists to bring to you a Yoga of flow, rhythm, remedial movements, grace, harmony, relaxation and release.
Children’s Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yoga for the not–so-fit, Yoga for Back Care, Breathing Awareness, Posture ~ and much more!


Natural Energy Therapy is a dynamic holistic healing therapy that can help to bring greater health on all levels of the being. Clients have reported: enhanced immune system; harmonised hormonal system; relaxation and release of tension & stress and above all finding more inner peace so that they can get the most from life.
Progressive Counselling/Coaching empowers clients to live life to the full, so that whatever they need help with in life, they can connect more deeply with their inner wisdom and from that make their own choices.
Spiritual Guidance assists clients, who wish to progress spiritually, to find the right way forward for them and to develop their connection with all of life.
Appointments can be made for the clinic in Queen Camel or by SKYPE or phone.

Develop your own Retreat programme ~ speak to Christy or Daniel Francis if you need a sounding board. Receive a Therapy; swim; learn Meditation & Mindfulness; walk; rest; read; enjoy just being. You will be restored and refreshed ready to return to home and work with new ideas and inspirations.
Personal Retreats can be for any amount of time to suit your needs.

DIY Retreats

The Centre has a specially designed bedroom and wet room, the Lavender Room, for those who are not so able. There are level paths for easy wheelchair access and ramps for different levels. Meals can be served in the Lavender Room if requested.

The Centre has a policy of recycling and of using eco-friendly products wherever feasible. There is a vegetable and fruit garden.

The Retreat Centre is open throughout the year. Reception is open between the hours of 9.00-12.30 and 2.30-5.30. Silent Meditation is at 6am and 8.00pm during the week; 6am and 7.30pm on Sundays (no charge). For prices of therapies, courses and accommodation/meals, please see our website
