1st week Workshop 1

The Nomadic School of Moving Thought by Sonia Ntova

22.8.22 - 27.8.22
A series of movements and interactions for everyone to investigate the sensorial self with nature and to others. It is a process that moves towards a sensitive ecological understanding of "becoming". Creating a secure workplace, the facilitator activates the process for mutual understanding and allows participation as a productive field of possibilities. Poetic images, our senses, imagination, sounds, micro-observation guide us and allow movement to happen. Participants are invited to work on somatic practices and instructions that will expand their sensorial world, to translate creatively their experience (sound, painting, poetry), to work individually and in groups. The laboratory is open to all different bodies. No experience with movement and dancing is necessary.

Let’s be comfortable in our skin: A’ round by Androniki Marathaki

22.8.22 - 27.8.22 A meditative | improvisational Practice of Dance that proposes a Way for exploring what movement is and
which are the potentialities that are released through that kind of observation. Instead of processing movement as it is researched, guided and performed from an external point of view, it is informed by the various qualities of consciousnesses that arise while it is perceived by the one that is moving. It is a Way that cultivates personal development of “listening” and paying attention to the “feeling of movement” with primal ignorance and care.

2nd week Workshop 1

DADAworkshop on unpredictable dance 29.8.22 - 3.9.22 by Ainara Makalilo

We will experience different ways of walking, of guiding and being guided, ways to perceive the visible
and the invisible, the souvenirs, the wandering to establish new personal cartographies of our body in
space. We will dance different landscapes and create rituals for improbable spaces. The exercises proposed are inspired by Butō dance, improvisation, authentic movement, bodyweather techniques, DaDÁ, ritual, as well as by the desire to write and share personal narratives outside of daily routines. This workshop is open to all, experienced or beginners, whatever your experience, morphology, age, gender is. Motivation is strongly required.

Losing Ground | Suggestions on consensual movement 29.8.22 - 3.9.22

by Giorgos Sioras Deligiannis and Kyveli Kouvatsi | What if we could really understand each other through touch?
Losing Ground is an original practice in couples with the basic working condition of the closed eyes of one body and the feeling of touch as a moving stimulus. Drawing inspiration from somatic practices, it explores moving possibilities in a way containing all the dynamics of our bodily memory without being trapped in it. By sharpening our kinesthetic functions, a dance of kinetic codecision, increased care and alertness can occur. This practice’s research revolves around how dance emerges through the consent of the two bodies and opens a field of reflection for the concepts of codecision and togetherness. The workshop is aimed at people with or without dance experience.

3rd week Workshop 1

The Body The Player The Journey 5.9.22 - 10.9.22 by Rafaela Sahyoun

Rafaela Sahyoun creates in her workshop a playful, physical and sensitive space to experience dance. In current times it feels fundamental to dance what pulses in and in between us-meeting states of vitality as a form of resistance and affection. Exploring modes of interaction, negotiation, and trust, inquiring how we operate, and cross narratives that update the relationships present in the space. Through games and improvisation practices, the intention is to orchestrate the body in relation to various stimuli, refining perception and crafting attention around simultaneous layers. This workshop is an invitation to dance life in real-time, to meet and dance a change.

Somatic Art Practice 5.9.22 - 10.9.22 by Marina Tsartsara

During this week of Somatic Art® practice we will expand into Somatic Art methodology. The methodology interlaces Somatic, Dance and Visual Art methods deepening into the contents of each workshop through weaving and layering.
Our daily explorations will include experiential anatomy (Body-Mind Centering®), Mindfulness Meditation, Somatic Movement, Fine and Visual Arts (somatic drawing, clay & photography) as well as creative writing. We will also spend time in nature to ‘borrow’ qualities, materials and inspiration. We will share a week of Somatic Art® practice, personal reflections and group sharings.
We will create somatic movement, fine and visual art material focusing on the process and on qualities of presence.
